Queer Resurgence on Capitol Hill

In January, Seattle Poetry Slam is organizing a three day all-ages poetry festival and competition open to those who identify as LGBTQ in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill in Seattle.  With the recent changes in the city, we are committed to reclaiming the neighborhood that was once Queer and bringing art back into Capitol Hill.

We will be taking up to 32 LGBTQ-Identified poets into the preliminary rounds of the competition for a registration fee of $50.  The finals will accept the top 8 from preliminaries.  The first place winner receives $1000 and the title of Queer Resurgence on the Hill Poetry Slam Champion, second place winner receives $500 and third place winner receives $250.

During this three day festival of Queer Poetry we will be inviting artists of the LGBTQ Community to facilitate art workshops, speak on panels, and have performances and host open mics to invite the Queer Community back to Capitol Hill.
